Business Letter Format
There are two common business letter formats, the popular one is the block format, which is easier to use and there is no indentation. Another format is the indented format, which required some indentation. Make sure to use the correct template when writing your formal business letter and make sure everything is in the proper layout. The margin on all sides should be 1-inch, for more details, view the samples below.

The two formats above are great examples of what a business letter should look like. You can either use the block layout as your sample or use the indented layout if you want to change the overall look. There are many business letter samples and examples, browse through the site to find the example that is relate to your business letter.
This has helped me greatly! I need to write a letter in business format for school and because of this site i have!
I asked about formatting a letter so you gave me two samples but I don’t know where I get to choose. When I started my letter (about 6 hour ago) I could not use paragraphs, spaces between paragraphs, block form which is supposedly simpler or get a sample of what it will look. My 12-year old grandson came over for a few minutes and did all things but he is gone and I have to continue and finish this letter before I am much older. He did these things but did not explain them so I am still unable to time-sensitive letter!!!!

wow pretty good useful for my bussiness letter in school but the end is wrong you have to print your name and your signurature (cursive) because apparently the person you writing to dos’nt know you so you need to print it and write it in cursive(very important you remember this everyone)

it’s good if it has basic structures…however it’s good.
Hi these websites are very helpful, but there is one mistake. Your spacing on these letters is off. There should be three spaces (four returns) between the date line and the inside address, and the date line should immediately follow the return address with no spaces unless you are using a letterhead. The punctuation after the salutation and the closing is incorrect. In a business letter, you are to either use open punctuation after the salutation and the closing, or mixed punctuation. In other words, you don’t need to put any punctuation mark after the salutation, but then you don’t put any after the closing either. If you do use a colon after the salutation, then you must use a comma after the closing. Basically it is an all or nothing approach. I hope this was helpful.
